Extend the navigation
Describes how to extend the navigation for Optimizely Content Management System (CMS) version 11.21 and higher.
Extend the global menu to give editors access to Content Management System (CMS) features and other Optimizely products from a single navigation bar.
Add items through either of the following approaches:
- The
[MenuItem]attribute adds an interface to the menu. See Add and configure menu items. - A custom menu provider returns localized, permission-aware items. See Use menu providers.
Attributes and menu providers must reside in an assembly configured as a shell module.
CMS UI version 11.21 introduced a global navigation menu that differs from earlier versions. To upgrade from the previous navigation menu, see Upgrade global navigation menu.
