Create Properties

Before you can begin tracking visitors, you must set up a Web Property in the dashboard. A Property represents your website within the Content Recommendation platform and tells our system which site you want to track.

Prerequisites

• Access to the Content Recommendations dashboard.
• The primary hostname and any additional subdomains you intend to track.
• The name of the region where you Content Recs instance is deployed:
  • APAC01
  • CAEA01
  • EMEA01
  • USEA01

Region name can be acquired by logging into the dashboard and checking the URL. For example, if your URL is https://manager.usea01.idio.episerver.net/, your region name is USEA01.

Steps to Create a Web Property

1. Log in to the dashboard: Log in with your credentials.
2. Navigate to Properties: From the main menu, navigate to Content > Properties.
3. Add a New Web Property:
   • Click the Add Web Property button.
   • Enter a descriptive Name for your property (e.g., your website’s name).
   • Add all Hostnames (domains and subdomains) you want to track (e.g., www.example.com, blog.example.com).
   • Optionally, add a Collection name to organize your properties.
   • Click Save.
4. Get Your Tracking Configuration:
   • After saving, click on your newly created Web Property in the list.
   • Navigate to the Tracking JavaScript section. Here you will find the unique identifiers, such as your Client ID and Delivery ID, required for the tracking script configuration.
