Get Started

Using Optimizely Web

After implementing the one line snippet installation of Optimizely Web on your web page, you can create the following events in Optimizely Web:

  • Click events which capture visitor clicks on elements like buttons or offers.
  • Page view events which capture visitor page views and are tracked automatically for each page that you set up in Optimizely.
  • Custom events which with the help of the Optimizely Web JavaScript API can be used to track any additional information about other kinds of visitor behaviors like video-views, scroll-depth, or form-fills.

The instructions in this article provide more detail on how to set up events in Optimizely Web.

Once you've implemented events in Optimizely Web, events are always on. An event will begin sending data to Optimizely when it's setup, even if you don't have any active running experiments.
