Preview 3 release notes for CMS 13 pre-release

CMS 13 Pre-release Preview 3 introduces stability improvements, new Visual Builder capabilities, and fixes across content APIs, Graph synchronization, hosting, personalization, and translation workflows.

This preview focuses on improving editing reliability, expanding Visual Builder functionality, and resolving issues identified in earlier previews.

Visual Builder and content editing

Preview 3 improves editing stability in Visual Builder.

• Improves block-as-section and block-as-element stability, including auto-save behavior, reload handling, and required property validation.
• Prevents unnecessary page refreshes during auto-save.
• Preserves style settings after publishing experiences.

Applications and host management

• Adds a Media host type for applications.
• Corrects host type creation based on application type (in-process versus headless).
• Uses primary and default hosts for in-process application media during Graph indexing.

Admin settings

• Improves license messaging.
• Makes language deletion messages consistent.
• Adds a third-party license information tab.

Translation

• Updates World references to the new domain.

Other improvements

• Fixed an issue that prevented the updating of some databases from CMS 12 to CMS 13.
• Prevents assembly version changes from forcing major content type updates.
• Keeps Project mode disabled by default in this preview.
