Essential Graph functionality
Understand the integral benefits Graph brings to CMS 13 pre-release.
Optimizely Graph is a mandatory component of CMS 13. Graph plays an integral part in current and upcoming CMS 13 features. Integrating Graph into primary CMS 13 functionality establishes the foundation for future CMS 13 interoperability between Optimizely products and third-party add-ons.
Core Graph features for CMS 13 pre-release
Graph powers the following features that enable greater composability with third-party add-ons and compatibility with other Optimizely One products:
- Content indexing and querying – Enables auto-indexing of created or updated content for search, leading to enhanced content discoverability and faster content retrieval.
- Content preview and delivery – Supports headless configurations that empowers frontend flexibility and consistency across platforms.
- Content variations and real-time preview – Reduce publishing errors with instant visual verification and enable data-driven content optimization.
- Reliable and scalable content synchronization – Offers high availability and performance while maintaining data consistency.
- Media content extraction and indexing – Incorporates digital asset management (DAM) capabilities and external content binding for efficient content management within CMS 13.
- Advanced AI-assisted workflows – Powers AI-driven scenarios through Optimizely Opal, enabling retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), richer content intelligence, and contextual insights across indexed content.
- External content integration – Allows indexing and querying of external sources, enabling unified search, enrichment, and cross-system content experiences.
- Content Manager support – Provides structured access to managed content for governance, organization, and controlled reuse across experiences.
Note: Visual Builder is not dependent on Optimizely Graph. It fully supports in-process ASP.NET applications.
Optional Graph search
You can choose to implement search using Optimizely Graph or bring your own third-party provider.
Enable Optimizely Graph
Graph can be enabled for testing purposes on an existing DXP project. This provides access to a Graph instance that can be used for development and validation, but it is not intended for live/production traffic, There is no trial end date, and it is free to use at this stage.
To enable Graph today:
- You need to have a DXP project.
- In the PaaS portal, go to your project.
- Go to the API tab.
- From there, add a Graph instance using the existing self-service flow.
Once self-service support for creating a full (non-trial) Graph index is available, this flow will be extended accordingly.
NoteIf you do not have a Optimizely DXP subscription and still want to use CMS 13 and Graph, Contact Optimizely Support for further instructions.
